The Wind In The Willows adapted by A A Milne to be Toad Of Toad Hall became an instant children's classic. What child could fail to fall in love with the tales of the secret lives of those mysterious creatures glimpsed going about their business at the edges of our existence?

Troika Productions have kept their version true to the original but with a couple of delightful twists. Ratty with his boater hat and tail tucked in his pocket, is an elegant 1920s gentleman and the quintessence of a true friend as he nurtures the timorous Mole and ameliorates the crotchety Badger. Ross Simpson's Mr Toad is absolutely fabulous and as camp as Christmas as he charges around the countryside utterly delighted with himself.

The attention seeking Toad is the star, but it is the irrepressible Wildwooders who make the show. Dressed in Teddy Boy Zoot Suits over assorted fluffy tails they are beautifully choreographed to move as one through the wood delighting in making mischief for Toad causing him to be taken to court, and playing a hilarious game of Knock and Run against the dithery old Badger.

Troika Productions make Toad Of Toad Hall a feast of fun. Playing a series of gorgeous handpicked venues across the country, each performance is carefully plotted to maximise the space. Their gentle humour and silly touches like the Toad Warp and Bohemian Toadsidy add freshness to the classic whilst the sweetness of Rachell Dobell as Rat and Margaret Griffiths as Mole played against the gleeful malice of the Chief Weasel Kaz Luckins create a fully rounded show.

This evergreen tale, beloved by countless generations of children and adults alike, transports us to another world, there to befriend Mole, Rat, Badger and, of course, the indomitable Toad. Adventures abound as the four friends fend off the evil Wild Wooders and help Toad to overcome his obsession for motorcars and regain his beloved Toad Hall.

A tale of friendship, courage, and hope. A picnic basket full to overflowing with the choicest fare. A cornucopia of delights! A ride you won't want to ever forget! So what are you waiting for? Climb aboard!
