14.03.2008 Spirit of Piaf CD Now Available!

This CD recorded by Spirit of Piaf - with Margaret Griffiths as vocalist, Stephen Powell as pianist/musical arranger and Richard Adey and Tracey Burton as accordionists - is at last available for sale.


Some of you may already know that Margaret was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 2006.

Having undergone the 'full works' (surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy) Margaret continues to receive treatments for the cancer. In addition, she has had other complications including the hospital bug, MSSA (a variant of MRSA) and a severe reaction which has robbed her of her mobility.

As a consequence, Margaret has been too weak to perform live, but she has managed to complete the production of this CD, which is a tribute to the late, great Edith Piaf and which includes some of her greatest and most popular songs.

This CD is being sold at cost price, which is £6.99 + £1 post and packaging. In addition, Margaret would like to use this sale as a fund-raising opportunity for Cancer Research UK (without whom life-extending drugs such as Herceptin, which she is also benefiting from, would not be available).

Purchasers of the CD are invited to make a voluntary donation of £1 or £2 (or more if you prefer) to Cancer Research UK. Whilst all donations will be appreciated, there is, of course, no obligation to pay any more than the basic purchase price and delivery charge.
